The Palace of Versailles is truly a jewel of the Île-de-France heritage! While adults often visit to admire the historic site where Louis XIV once lived, children sometimes find it hard to grasp all they see. That's why the palace has introduced a program of engaging activities and workshops during school holidays, aimed at families. These take place on Wednesdays and weekends, themed around specific topics or locations.
These ongoing interactive sessions run throughout the day, providing families with an opportunity to explore the theme through a historical and artistic perspective, as well as participating in a workshop. Parents and children can also enjoy a cozy reading corner, listen to podcasts, or get creative with postcard-making. All of these activities are available without reservation.
Families are invited to meet with Nepveu's assistant, the architect behind Louis-Philippe’s projects, as well as the princess Clémentine's lady-in-waiting, the royal daughter of the King. Through these characters, visitors will experience the historic transformation of the Palace of Versailles into a museum, which officially opened in 1837.
Families are exploring the exhibits of the Crusades rooms by engaging their senses. This multisensory approach offers an enjoyable and interactive introduction to cultural heritage, especially for the youngest visitors.
Versailles Palace invites families to uncover the secrets behind the coats of arms displayed in the Crusades halls. The experience includes a journey into their history and symbols, followed by a creative workshop where participants can design and craft their own unique heraldic emblems.
