Contes et Histoires 2025: a world tour of stories to experience at the Domaine de Saint-Cloud

For the 2025 edition of theContes et Histoires des Monuments Nationaux (Tales and Stories of National Monuments) event, the Domaine de Saint-Cloud is unveiling a wonderful program for families during the Christmas holidays. From December 22, 2025, to January 3, 2026,there will be several fun activities to celebrate Christmas in a different way and rediscover the history of this estate. 

The Domaine de Saint-Cloud, located in the Hauts-de-Seine department, is an idyllic 460-hectare park, decorated with fountains, basins, sculptures and waterfalls. It once housed a mansion, a holiday residence for the royal and imperial families of France. The palace was destroyed in a terrible fire in 1870. Although the building has now disappeared, the landscaped gardens can still be admired.

It is therefore in these leafy avenues that you can take part in the activities organized for the Tales and Stories event. Combining tradition and sharing, every year the estate offers unusual tours and shows linked to the history of the place.

During the 2025 Christmas holidays, there will be activities and entertainment for the whole family on December 22, 23, 29, and 30, 2025, and January 2 and 3, 2026! Please note, however, that reservations are required, and tickets go on sale on December 1. Don't miss these very special days, which allow us to spend quality time with our families during the holidays. And Merry Christmas, of course!

  Christmas here and elsewhere at the Domaine National de Saint-Cloud.
  The Domaine National de Saint-Cloud has always welcomed visitors from all over the world: ambassadors from Siam, emperors from Russia, giraffes from Egypt... Their stories and those of their countries were recounted in tales. Once again, the estate is hosting tales from here... and especially from elsewhere to delight young and old alike. 
  
  
  • Monday, December 22, and Tuesday, December 23, at 2:30 p.m.
    SHOW: OULALA L’AS-TU VU ?
    At the crossroads of storytelling, clowning, and the visual arts, Blanche Heugel explores books from every angle, both the stories and the books themselves as objects.
    Ages 4 and up
    Duration: 40 min, followed by a 1.5-hour creative workshop 
    
    
  • Monday, December 29 at 2:30 p.m.
    CREATIVE WORKSHOP: PAVILLON DE LUMIÈRE
    In the 18th and 19th centuries, small pavilions with fanciful architecture inspired by distant lands decorated gardens. In the middle of the Trocadéro garden, there was a small exotic "fabrique," or pavilion, whose bright colors caught the eye of passersby. Make and decorate your own miniature paper pavilion, which can be used as a candle holder for the holiday season.

  • Tuesday, December 30 at 2:00 p.m. and 2:15 p.m.
    SHOW: D’AILLEURS EN AFRIQUE FOLLOWED BY A CREATIVE WORKSHOP
    A nomadic woman, a gatherer of stories that are sometimes funny, sometimes poignant, takes us on an imaginary and sensory journey. From her suitcase emerge three tales, a song, two dance steps, a few meditations... The characters, animals or humans, female or male, frivolous or serious, come to life in her body and voice, which lend themselves to multiple transformations.
    Ages 6 and up
    Duration: 35 min, followed by a 1-hour creative workshop 
    
    
  • Friday, January 2, and Saturday, January 3, at 2:30 p.m.
    COOKING WORKSHOP: FLAVORS OF THE ORIENT
    Come cook with the flavors of the Orient: pistachio, orange blossom, or almond, and then enjoy them with your family. Please note: bring an airtight container to take your cake home with you.

    Duration: approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes
