Le Mystère Lucy Lost, Irish Travellers and Ma toute petite école win awards at Mon Premier Festival 2026, which reports more than 35,000 admissions.

Mon Premier Festival took place from October 21 to 27, 2026, for its 22nd edition. Organized by Enfances au cinéma at the initiative of the City of Paris, this event during the All Saints’ school holidays brought together more than 100 films at 21 Parisian cinemas and cultural venues. Preview screenings, classic films, workshops and meet-and-greets accompanied young audiences as they discovered new films.

The winners of the 2026 edition were announced at the closing ceremony at the Cinéma des Cinéastes on October 27. The Ciné+ Family children’s jury honored Le Mystère Lucy Lost, by Olivier Clert, while the TUMO–ESRA youth jury awarded its prize to Irish Travellers, by Alexander Murphy. Both films opened in cinemas on October 28.

The Audience Award, presented in partnership with Paris Mômes, goes to Ma toute petite école, the documentary by Pascal Plisson due in theaters on November 4, 2026. According to figures released by the City of Paris and Enfances au cinéma, the 22nd edition drew more than 35,000 admissions.

The program for this 22nd edition featured 300 screenings, including 24 advance screenings, of more than a hundred films. The festival took place at 21 venues across 15 Paris arrondissements.

The theme “In Every Direction” brought together Matilda, James and the Giant Peach and Anzu, Ghost Cat, among others. Italian cinema was also celebrated to mark the 70th anniversary of the Paris–Rome twinning, with a carte blanche for the Cinema dei Piccoli. Barbara Schulz was the patron of this edition.

At the Forum des images, the opening event featured a preview screening of Muyi, the Legend of the Village of Women, by Julien Chheng, recommended for ages 8 and up. Two live music screenings also gave the youngest children a chance to discover films accompanied by live music: Au fil du jeu with Sophie Maurin, for ages 18 months and up, and Un brin d’audace with Nichotomie, for ages 4 and up. The recommended age therefore varied from one screening to another.

The screenings were complemented by creative activities, film storytimes and discussions. Some required separate registration. The festival also included screenings adapted for deaf and hard-of-hearing audiences, blind and partially sighted audiences, and people with reduced mobility.

The opening screening of Muyi, the Legend of the Women's Village was held on October 21 at 3 p.m. at the Forum des images, with Barbara Schulz and director Julien Chheng in attendance. The closing event took place on October 27 at 2 p.m. at the Cinéma des Cinéastes, with the awards ceremony and a preview screening of New York, Miriam and Me, by Rémy Schaepman and Léahn Vivier-Chapas.

At the Club de l’Étoile, five screenings were scheduled for 10:30 a.m.: Frozen on October 21, Et toi, tu rêves en couleur ? on the 22nd, Kung Fu Panda on the 23rd, Asterix & Obelix: Mission Cleopatra on the 26th and Little Miss Sunshine on the 27th. Each screening was introduced and followed by an activity for children. The festival’s ticket price applied, with age recommendations varying by film.

Tickets, at a flat rate of €4.50, were available on the websites and at the box offices of participating cinemas, with online advance sales opening on October 8. The festival program lists the screenings and activities in this edition.
