Halloween 2023: the pumpkin festival at the Open Farm in St Denis

La ferme ouverte de St Denis is the last working farm on the outskirts of Paris. As well as being a place to raise awareness of agriculture, it's also a place to learn about nature in the city, where you can come and pick or buy seasonal fruit and vegetables in a short circuit. At the start ofautumn, the first cucurbits, squash, pumpkins and other vegetables are ready to be picked.

From October 24 to 31, 2022, pumpkins are being celebrated at the St Denis Open Farm: Jack'O Lanterns, the variety of squash that is carved every year on Halloween, have been picked. They're waiting for children, who are invited to draw on them with felt-tip pens during a "pumpkin carving" workshop. Afterwards, our animators will empty and hollow out the pumpkins. All you have to do is take your carved pumpkin home, put a candle inside and wait forHalloween night.

Pumpkin carving workshops take place during the week of October 24 to 31, 2022, from 2pm to 6:30pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, and from 10am to 1pm and 2pm to 6:30pm on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays. The workshop costs €10.50 per child and €5 per adult.

The Saint-Denis Open Farm is open to city dwellers and local residents, who can come and buy the vegetables produced directly on site at the farm market. It's also possible to visit the farm and discover the animals that live there.

• pumpkin digging (October 24 to 26, 2pm to 5:30pm and October 27 to 31, 10:30am to 5:30pm), €13.5 per child aged 3 and over and €5 per adult)
• outdoor gourmet snack (October 24 to 31, 3pm to 5:30pm) with pancakes, hot cinnamon apple juice and hot drinks
• pumpkin workshops with friends, without parents (Tuesday, October 25 and Wednesday, October 26 from 10.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m., children €26): pumpkin digging, guided tour of the animals, tasting of Fermes de Gally apple juice.

In Sartrouville
