The National Celebration 2026 is a summer staple in France. Each year, as July 14 approaches, the country gears up for festivities and a multitude of celebrations mark this public holiday, which notably commemorates the storming of the Bastille, a turning point in the French Revolution. In Paris, this period features the traditional military parade along the Champs-Élysées, plus the iconic fireworks display launched from the Eiffel Tower.
The rest of the Île-de-France region is joining in, and the communes d'Île-de-France reveal in turn their festive programmes marked by pyrotechnic displays, family activities, concerts, XXL picnics, military parades, or even popular dances and firefighters’ balls.
Festivities run between July 13 and 14 and offer everyone a chance to find a nearby outing, or, conversely, to discover Île-de-France towns and their heritage. If you’re looking for a plan on the des Yvelines side, we’re this time guiding you to the program awaiting in the town of Trappes.
On National Day, the City of Trappes invites you to join us from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. at Parc du Gymnase Mahier for a festive, friendly evening open to everyone.
An eating area will host several food trucks offering a varied menu of sweet and savory specialties, letting everyone make the most of the evening in a warm, gourmet atmosphere.
From 7 p.m.: Discover the Solidarity Village, a hub for meetings and exchanges bringing together several associations active in social and humanitarian work, here as elsewhere. A wonderful opportunity to better learn about their missions and to share the values of citizenship and mutual aid that give life to our community.
8 p.m.: The musical ambience will be provided by the group “Balatous,” who will get the crowd moving with their contagious energy and a repertoire rich in the diverse influences of world music. It’s a universal dance party!
10:30 p.m.: expect a moment of awe with the traditional fireworks, the centerpiece of the evening, which will illuminate the sky to the great delight of the Trappists.
Come out in force to share this moment of celebration, music, solidarity and conviviality on the occasion of National Day!
