Fête Nationale 2025 in Mantes-la-Jolie (78): Picnic, torches and fireworks on July 13

Did you know? The town of Mante-la-Jolie has been the holiday resort of several French kings. Its name was given by Henri IV, who wrote to his mistress Gabrielle d'Estrées: " Je suis à Mantes, ma jolie " (" I'm in Mantes, my pretty one "). Pretty cute, isn't it? The town's strategic geographical position and crossroads between waterways and land routes also made it a hub of trade and commerce.

Every year, Mantes-la-Jolie hosts a fireworks display on the banks of the Seine, starting with a picnic in the Square Brieussel-Bourgeois. It's an opportunity for families and friends to get together and enjoy the sounds of the brass band. The evening continues with the traditional fireworks display on the Seine, but before that, a lantern-lit retreat is organized!

Once again this year, the many festivities will be held on Sunday July 13, 2025, rather than July 14. Make sure you don't get the wrong date! Here's the program for the evening.

    Style: Pop-Soul
    Square Brieussel-Bourgeois
    Élise Allasia, a Pop-Soul singer from the Côte d'Azur, was spotted at the age of 17 by the Dime On Music label. She soon began performing at festivals and concerts in France and abroad, from Nuits Guitares to the Crossover Festival. After her acclaimed appearance on The Voice (season 11), she self-produced her first single, "Miracle", a blend of Pop and Jazz, released in July 2023. In 2024, she won the Nuits du Sud springboard and opened for Cerrone. Chosen by Coca-Cola as PACA artistic ambassador for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, she had the honor of carrying the Olympic flame as it passed through the region. With her stage presence, strong voice and determination, Élise is gradually asserting her place on the new French pop scene.

    Cover Session is a music group specializing in covers of various styles, from French chanson to funk/disco, rock and pop. Each song is carefully rearranged, and enhanced by multi-part vocal harmonies.
    
    
• LAMPION DISTRIBUTION
  From 9pm to 10pm, enjoy the traditional distribution of lanterns in the Square Brieussel-Bourgeois.
  
  
• FLAMBEAUX RETREAT with batucada
  From 10.15pm to 10.50pm, the torchlight retreat departs from Square Brieussel-Bourgeois towards the banks of the Seine, passing through Place Ducœur in a festive atmosphere with DrumTeam, a wild batucada!
  
  
• FIREWORKS
  At 11 p.m., fireworks will be set off along the water's edge
