The town of Mennecy, in Essonne, had planned a Bastille Day celebration in style, with a fair and activities over Saturday, July 11 and Sunday, July 12, followed by the traditional fireworks on July 14.
Unfortunately, because of drought and the risk of fire, an order was issued banning fireworks across the department. Mennecy has therefore decided to cancel all festivities.
