Looking for achocolate Yule logfor your holiday meals? Chapon, a chocolatier and roaster based in Paris and the Île-de-France region, is treating us once again this year with a Christmas collection called "Une merveilleuse épopée en Chaponie" (A Wonderful Epic in Chaponie). On the menu is an intensely flavored chocolate and hazelnut log, an original Advent calendar, and beautifully illustrated gift boxes that will delight food lovers of all ages.
Founded by Patrice Chapon, the company has established itself over the years as a benchmark for exceptional chocolate with its "bean-to-bar" approach, meticulously crafting each bar from the bean to the tablet. Chapon boutiques can be found in several neighborhoods of the capital, notably on Rue du Bac in the 7th arrondissement, Avenue Mozart in the 16th, and Rue Saint-Sulpice in the 6th. The chocolate maker also has locations in Saint-Mandé, Le Perreux-sur-Marne, Chelles, and Meaux.
This year, Chapon offers a gourmet chocolate and hazelnut log that elegantly combines different textures. It features a soft hazelnut biscuit on a base of crunchy hazelnut praline, all coated in a cloud of rare Papua New Guinea cocoa mousse. Inside, hazelnut praline inserts add an extra touch of indulgence. The balance between the softness, crunchiness, and lightness of the mousse is irresistible. Expect to pay €48 for a log that will serve 6 to 8 people.
The Chapon Advent calendar stands out for its originality. Gone are the classic numbered boxes! This year, it has been transformed into a giant map representing the wonderful world of Chaponie. From the enchanted forest of cocoa pods to the sweet mountains of praline, each region illustrates a stage in the journey of the cocoa bean until it is transformed into chocolate.
To discover the daily surprises, parents and children are given a travel journal with puzzles to solve. This playful approach transforms the Christmas countdown into a gourmet adventure guided by cheerful and colorful animals. The concept was developed in collaboration with illustrator Karlotta Freier, who adds a poetic touch to the whole. The Advent calendar and clue book are available for €64 for 290 g of chocolates.
The 2025 Christmas collection includes two ranges of boxes. The "epic" boxes, illustrated by Karlotta Freier, echo the visual world of the Advent calendar with their imaginary map of Chaponie. There are formats to suit all needs, from the 6-piece box of chocolates at $14 to the large box of 56 chocolates at $76.
At the same time, the "monogram" boxes feature the new Chapon chocolate maker logo. These elegant boxes come in the same sizes as the epic boxes, with prices ranging from €8 for a box of four chocolates to €76 for a box of 56. Inside, you will find the house's iconic creations: ganaches, pralines, and chocolates with original flavors that have made Patrice Chapon's reputation.
In addition to Yule logs and gift boxes, Chapon offers other gourmet creations for the holidays. The signatureEcuadorian milk chocolate barstands out for its original spices: coriander, cloves, and star anise. A surprising combination that awakens the taste buds, priced at €12 for 75 g.
We also love the praline pine cones, available in dark or milk chocolate. These little wonders contain an almond-hazelnut praline filling enhanced with puffed rice balls for crunch, priced at €8 each. A classic that returns every year and that we never tire of crunching on.
In short, if you're looking for a refined chocolate-hazelnut Yule log or elegant chocolate boxes to treat your loved ones, the 2025 collection from Chapon is well worth a visit. The creations are available in Parisian and Île-de-France boutiques as well as on the chocolate maker's official website. For those who can't make up their minds, the Advent calendar offers a wonderful way to gradually discover the gourmet world of this exceptional chocolatier renowned for its artisanal expertise.
