Maison Poursin answered the call for this new edition of the Heritage Days 2026 in Paris. The capital’s oldest factory still in operation was originally specialized in creating bridle fittings and brass hardware for saddlery and horse-drawn harnesses. Its reputation grew during the World Expositions between 1890 and 1914, when horses—many of them—from across the country trotted through the exhibitions.

At the end of the Great War, the car is booming and gradually replacing carriages and other horse-drawn vehicles. The new machines end up becoming the sole means of transport. Maison Poursin shifts gears and now focuses exclusively on producing metal parts for luxury leather goods strongly inspired by the world of horses. A fascinating story and a know‑how to discover during the 43rd edition of the Heritage Days.
