Have you always dreamed of discovering Qatar? During Heritage Days, you can get a small glimpse with a free tour of the Qatari Embassy, this Saturday, September 19, 2026.

Just steps from the Arc de Triomphe, on Place de l'Étoile, stands a triangular-shaped townhouse. The Hôtel Landolfo de Carcano, built in 1867, has housed — since 2007 — the Embassy of the State of Qatar. This building with its impressive architecture opens its doors free of charge, on Saturday, September 19, 2026, for an exceptional visit.

For the 43rd edition of the Heritage Days, the Qatar Embassy invites us to discover this regal townhouse, as well as the history and culture of the State of Qatar, and the major projects the country is developing at the heart of today’s headlines. This Gulf emirate in the Middle East captures attention with its glamorous and festive tourism scene. But Qatar is also a nation with ancient roots and a rich culture.

This guided tour offers us a glimpse of this intriguing country. It also gives us a chance to admire one of the twelve hôtels particuliers known as the Maréchaux. Designed by Jacques-Ignace Hittorff in 1853, these majestic buildings were commissioned byEmperor Napoleon III, who was undertaking major redevelopment work on the Place de l'Étoile.

The Hôtel Landolfo-Carcano was built for Anne-Marie Adèle de Caussin, wife of the Marquis Landolfo de Carcano. Painted ceilings, balconies, Corinthian columns, ornate salons, caryatid fireplaces... Luxury and refinement can be found in every nook and cranny of this private mansion.

It's impossible to miss this discovery during the Journées du Patrimoine. Please note that bookings for this guided tour open at the beginning of September. Places are likely to fill up fast, so get ready to get your ticket.
