The Journées du Patrimoine (Heritage Days) are a not-to-be-missed event for enthusiasts and the curious alike. Over the course of a weekend, museums, monuments, castles and other sites usually inaccessible to the public are put under the spotlight! For the occasion, they offer a fabulous program of visits, often free of charge, as well as events for all ages. An original way to discover the treasures of our heritage.
This cultural event takes place all over Europe, and as you'd expect, Paris and the surrounding region will be part of it! For this 42nd edition, we invite you to the weekend of September 20 and 21, 2025. Free tours of the Cimetière des Chiens site, open Saturday September 20 and Sunday September 21, 2025, from 10am to 6pm.
Come and discover this exceptional site, listed on the Inventaire Supplémentaire des Sites for its "artistic, historical and picturesque" interest since 1987 and labelled "Patrimoine d'intérêt régional" since 2023.
The Cimetière des Chiens is a unique site where animals with extraordinary destinies are laid to rest: Rintintin the valiant TV hero, Barry the mountain rescuer, Moustache the hero dog of Napoleon's army and many others, famous and anonymous.
Despite its name, the Cimetière des Chiens welcomes all pets: cats, birds, rabbits, tortoises... all find their final resting place here.

Heritage Days at Sainte-Geneviève Church in Asnières-sur-Seine
Audition, musical tour and workshop on the Abbey organ: an opportunity to climb up to the organ loft to visit the city-owned instrument, whose concerts have featured prestigious organists since 2002. Visitors will be able to discover how the organ works from the inside, its history and the restoration and enlargement to be carried out in 2019 by organ builder Saverio Girotto. Those who wish to do so will also be able to play, whatever their level, or try out the organ for the 1st time.
This very special instrument offers unique and unheard-of musical possibilities.
In fact, it was restored and enlarged in 2019, then augmented by a floor-standing, mobile chest organ in 2021 (acquired by the association Les Amis de l'Orgue de Sainte-Geneviève).
The chest organ, also known as a positive, can be independent and played by a second organist, but can also be connected to the gallery organ to play along with it, operated from above or below by a single organist, then having something of the function of a third keyboard but placed at a distance.
