The Journées du Patrimoine (Heritage Days ) are one of those not-to-be-missed events that punctuate the Parisian cultural calendar. Every year in September, this major event invites enthusiasts and the curious to take advantage of a surprising and enriching cultural program. Museums, monuments, castles, churches, gardens and even places usually closed to the public , such as ministries, all play their part in the Journées du Patrimoine. One after the other, we're offered tours - often free of charge - as well as original events for young and old alike.
Paris has a fabulous program for this exceptional weekend, but the rest of the region also has plenty to surprise you. If you're in the Hauts-de-Seine region or would like to explore the department of 92, why not visit the town of Sèvres? Accessible by public transport, this town has a charm all of its own, which you can discover during the 42nd edition of the Journées du Patrimoine. ### Reserve your spot for a 45-minute guided tour of the Jardies House in Sèvres!
Perched on the southern slope of the Saint-Cloud estate, the Jardies House began as a simple wine‑grower’s dwelling. Its tranquil setting, just outside Paris, drew notable figures in the 19th century who would leave a lasting mark on the site.
Honoré de Balzac moved in in 1837 to the area known as Les Jardies. Through documents, objects, and artworks that will be presented to you, you’ll understand why the writer chose this place and what his ambitions were.
In 1878, it was Léon Gambetta’s turn to live at the Jardies House. He didn’t stay long in this haven of peace: the politician sustained an accident there and died in his home on December 31, 1882. The tour will lead you to discover his origins, his career, and his extraordinary commitment to the Republic.

Self-guided tour of the Maison des Jardies
### Come discover the Maison des Jardies in Sèvres on a self-guided visit!
With the help of visitor aid documents, explore the Maison des Jardies on your own. Wander through the house and its garden at your own pace, tracing the footsteps of two major figures in 19th-century French history: the writer Honoré de Balzac and the statesman Léon Gambetta.
The former settled at the Jardies in 1837, notably to develop a real estate project, before the bailiffs caught up with him! The latter purchased the property in 1878 to rest from a grueling parliamentary life, but an accidental injury would take his life four years later. Objects, works of art and documents punctuate the visit and recount the destinies of these great men.
Note: as the interior capacity of the house is limited, you may have to wait a short moment before entering.

The JAD Grand Game: explore the world of design and artisanal trades
The JAD invites the public to take part in a playful, immersive experience at the heart of the crafts and design trades.
Three interactive games, guided by facilitators, reveal excellence and artisanal know-how in an original, accessible format for everyone.
Each module lasts 7 to 10 minutes, and the three games are completely independent, letting visitors move at their own pace through the exhibition space.

Guided tour of architectural heritage
Come and discover the architectural and patrimonial dimension of the JAD housed in a building with a thousand lives. Built in the 1930s in an Art Deco style, the building first served as fabrication workshops for the Sèvres Manufactory before undergoing enlargements after World War II.
The two façades of the building each conceal their own story, which will be revealed to you by the guides.

Exhibition: The SunTrip Morocco adventure — mobility and new imaginaries
A short walk from Île Seguin, birthplace of Renault’s industrial saga, the JAD returns to innovation and transport by exploring solar-powered soft mobility.
The Supercycle project: Presentation of the interim vehicle designed by Jean Dard and Loïse Lyonnet. This hybrid prototype (half bike, half electric car) can cover 200 km a day thanks to solar energy.
The “Sun Trip Maroc” adventure: a solar journey initiated by Florian Bailly. This year it gathered fifteen international participants in Morocco aboard vehicles equipped with solar panels.
Open-access exhibition and test drive of the vehicle, in the presence of the two designers who originated the project.

Open House for JAD Creators
Throughout the weekend, JAD’s creators open their studios to the public. Visitors can wander at their own pace, watch the techniques in action, and speak directly with the artisans and designers.

Underground Chromatic
Winner of the “Partage ton Grand Paris” call for projects, designer Lucie Ponard is devising new uses for the excavated soils from the Grand Paris Express construction sites.
This exhibition presents the works and research of the Chromatiques souterraines project, led by Lucie Ponard. The winning project of the Partage Ton Grand Paris call for projects, with the support of the Société des grands projets, in partnership with the Métropole du Grand Paris. Artistic direction and delegated production: Centquatre-Paris and Playtime.
During the exhibition, visitors of all ages will be able to come together to create a collaborative mural using the designer’s tools, crafted from excavated soils.

For Sun Trip, Loïse, Jean, and Fabien rode together through extreme conditions—from Sahara sand to the snow-capped Atlas peaks—powered entirely by solar energy. The voyage proved a success for the trio, delivering on their mission by reaching Rabat on May 20, 2026, 100% solar-powered.

Roundtable: The Earth as a Creative Resource
What if the grand construction projects became the resources of tomorrow’s heritage? And what if these major sites became the deposits of tomorrow’s heritage?
Through the cross-cutting perspectives of Lucie Ponard (designer), Vincent Le Bourdon (designer), Stefan Shankland (artist) and a specialist in soil innovation and valorization at the SGP, this gathering explores how excavated earth and urban debris shed their “waste” status to become genuine creative resources. A cross-disciplinary discussion, led by Eva Grangier, Director of JAD and Deputy to Culture for the Hauts-de-Seine Department, to discover how art and design are reinventing the mutations of our territories.
