This prestigious mansion has been listed as a historic monument since 1926. The Journées du Patrimoine 2025 in Paris are an opportunity to discover this Parisian monument, usually closed to the public, during an open house!

The Journées du Patrimoine 2025 program at the Hotel d'Avaray in Paris:

  • (Registration closed) Visit to the Hôtel d'Avaray, residence of the Dutch ambassador to Paris
    Saturday, September 20, 2025 - 10:00 ⤏ 17:00

Between courtyard and garden: Hôtel d'Avaray, a Dutch gem among Paris's private mansions - a building beaming with 300 years of history.

Escape to the heart of Paris: as soon as you step through the beautiful wooden door, the majestic courtyard greets you with an architectural reverence. Follow in the footsteps of François Cluzet and Omar Sy, who filmed Intouchables here, or Catherine Frot, who ventured through the salons to the kitchens (on the 2nd floor - surprisingly) for Les Saveurs du palais.

On September 20, you'll be the guest of honor in this residence!

Over 100 years old, this private mansion has served as a showcase for political, economic, cultural and scientific exchanges between the French and Dutch.

The ground-floor salons d'honneur have been restored to their former glory since their complete renovation in 2017. Nestling between the courtyard and a lush garden, the architecture subtly plays with the visitor, while each piece of interior furnishings, whether fixed or movable, not only adds to the lustre of the premises, but also tells part of its fascinating story.
