Heritage Days are the perfect opportunity to discover the treasures that the Île-de-France region has to offer, a land of history and secrets. The Hauts-de-Seine department is no slouch when it comes to offering exceptional visits to its estates, filled with greenery, beautiful châteaux and renowned museums. This Saturday September 20 and Sunday September 21, 2025, head for the Domaine départemental de la Vallée-aux-Loups to discover an incredible and romantic space, where the House of Chateaubriand is hidden.
This sprawling 60-hectare departmental estate, now consisting of the Chateaubriand Park, the Arboretum, Green Island, White Eagle, the wooded Park, the Fallow Lands, and the Porcheries, offers an extraordinary landscape heritage right in the Paris region. It is open to the public year-round.
Officially listed as a historic monument, the House of Chateaubriand is dedicated to the writer and more broadly to the literary legacy of the 18th and 19th centuries. Owned by the Department, the site reconstructs the atmosphere of a Romantic "Chartreuse" as experienced by the writer himself.
