The Journées du Patrimoine are back for a 43rd edition on the weekend of September 19-20, 2026. It’s a chance for Parisians, both casual visitors and lifelong explorers, to dive into the patrimony of the Île-de-France region through a broad program of tours and unusual animations. Numerous venues take part: castles, monuments, institutions, ministries, museums, workshops... all united by a shared aim to reveal the patrimonial treasures of the Paris region from every angle. Each edition is marked by exceptional openings that thrill the general public.
On the occasion of the Heritage Days, several guided-tour itineraries are also organized through the streets of Paris and beyond. ### For the European Heritage Days 2026, come explore the Maison-Blanche and Butte-aux-Cailles districts!
As part of the Paris participatory budget, the City of Paris History Committee has created several discovery routes through the 13th arrondissement. We invite you to explore the Maison-Blanche neighborhood, built along the Bièvre riverbed and on the famed Butte-aux-Cailles.
A large portion of this area is made up of early 20th-century hillside cottages built to house the workers from nearby factories, some of which remain preserved. This visit offers a chance to discover a picturesque, green district that largely escaped the sweeping urban redesign of the 1960s.
