Île-de-France: the best almond galette des rois 2024 is in Hauts-de-Seine

Every year, the Syndicat des boulangers du Grand Paris awards a coveted prize: the trophy for the best almond cake of the year.

So, who wins the 36th edition of this competition? 1st prize for the best 2024 almond galette des rois in Greater Paris went to DUPONT with tea. This famous Normandy tea and pastry shop has just opened an address in Neuilly-sur-Seine, Hauts-de-Seine, with Éric Teboul at the helm. Maison DUPONT 's award-winning almond galette with tea was created by Yasmine Menacer. This is a major achievement for the head baker, who came second in last year's competition!

Just behind her was Maxime Sohier from Maison Sohier in Noisy-le-Grand, Seine-Saint-Denis. Finally, Abdellah Mourag from the Douceurs et Traditions bakery and patisserie in Alfortville, Val-de-Marne, took third place.

A total of 144 almond galettes out of 164 professionals registered (Paris, Hauts-de-Seine, Seine-Saint-Denis and Val-de-Marne) for this 36th edition of the competition were tasted by a jury on Tuesday, December 5, 2023. Of the 10 candidates rewarded at the prize-giving ceremony on December 8, 5 Parisian bakeries-pâtisseries feature in this 2024 ranking!
