Prevention, awareness, support: Pink October could be summed up in these three words. The month-long fight against breast cancer kicks off on October 1, 2025, with a number of events and activities designed to raise awareness of the disease among all those who may be affected.
Every year, breast cancer affects an additional 59,000 people: around one woman in eight is affected by the disease at least once in her life. To combat the disease, women aged 50 to 74 are encouraged to undergo regular screening, thanks to national campaigns funded by the French National Health Insurance. These preventive operations save lives every year, since a cancer detected early has a 90% chance of being cured within five years.
As you can imagine, it's very important to be screened regularly. That's why the City of Paris, in partnership with the CPAM de Paris, has decided to open a number of screening and awareness centers in Paris, from October 2 to 30, 2025. These centers welcome Parisians of all ages who want to find out more about this disease or get tested. Find out which ones are near you.
There's no reason to put off this essential examination any longer: go and get yourself screened!
