Get out your best pens and dictionaries, it's dictation time! The town of Clichy-la-Garenne is organizing an unusual event, open to all, this Sunday, October 19, 2025. As part of the Pink October breast cancer awareness campaign, the Hauts-de-Seine town is offering a free dictation in support of the cause.
This Sunday, the Hôtel de Ville de Clichy will be hosting a giant dictation for anyone wishing to put their spelling and grammar skills to the test.
Organized by the city's Rotary Club, this dictation is open to young and old alike: participants from each generation compete word by word, comma by comma. The dictation text is read by Rachid Santiki, novelist and founder of the Dictée géante. A fun challenge to test our French skills... But that's not all.
This dictation is a Pink October event: every year in October, numerous solidarity and educational events are organized in France, to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research. This dictation is free for all, and participants are encouraged to make a donation, with a donation box available at the entrance to the town hall.
