Are you a fan of pain au chocolat, apple tart, or chocolate éclair? As the year comes to a close, a flurry of baking and pastry competitions has taken place across Île-de-France. From the Top Almond Galette of Greater Paris to the Best Cake in Hauts-de-Seine, the Top Bakery of Essonne or the Best Baguette in Val-de-Marne... awards have been plentiful this fall.
Another contest that generated buzz recently was for the Best Chocolate Éclair in Île-de-France. A few weeks ago, the Île-de-France Pastry Chefs’ Federation held the 2025 edition of its regional competition focused on this iconic French pastry. The results were announced on October 14th.
Once again, numerous participants competed and showcased their creations, all aiming for one goal: to take home first place. After careful deliberation, the much-coveted award was ultimately awarded to Filipe Fernandes from L’Artisan des Gourmands, located in the 15th arrondissement of Paris. His chocolate éclair was named the best in Île-de-France!
Taking the second spot on the podium is Malik Amalou, from the bakery-pastry shop Du Levain & des idées in Conflans-Sainte-Honorine, Yvelines. Finally, Viorane Aime from Fournil Gourmand in Noisy-le-Grand, Seine-Saint-Denis, rounds out the top three in the competition.
