The punctuality of public transport in Paris and the Ile-de-France region continues to be an issue, after a year of Olympic Games. And three metro lines are still further behind than the others. Find out which ones.

If you're used to taking public transport in Paris and the surrounding region, then you've no doubt always noticed crowded platforms and very long waits on certain lines before you can board trains already overloaded with passengers. On the metro, whileservice is up 12% thanks to the extension of lines 11 and 14, three lines are still struggling with punctuality.

Four lines can truly be considered on-time: 14, 1, 4 and 5, with punctuality levels of over 100%. Line 9, on the other hand, has fallen by more than 5 points, from 97.1% to 92%, and is particularly busy at all times of the day, recently becoming as complicated to use at rush hour as line 13. But it gets worse, with lines 8 (88.9%), 13 (90%) and 6 (90.8%). Unfortunately, this situation is unlikely to improve before the arrival of the new trains in 2030, due to the age of the equipment.

But overall, with the exception of line 9 and its sharp drop in punctuality, delays on the other lines are less severe and regularity has improved overall. For daily public transport users, taking the metro isn't always a pleasure, particularly in view of the numerous works underway this year, which were not able to take place during last year's Olympic Games. This summer promises to be full of disruptions!
