The Orlybus will close at the beginning of March 2025. The extension of line 14 toOrly airport is particularly popular with passengers, much to the chagrin of the shuttle that has linked the airport to Denfert-Rochereau station in half an hour for over 60 years. According to Ile-de-France Mobilités, which we contacted, ridership on the shuttle has fallen "by over 80%".
To"avoid running empty buses", it was decided to end the service after the winter vacations, on March 3, 2025, thus avoiding"a loss of public money, a waste of resources for the operator and unnecessary air pollution". Ile-de-France Mobilités believes that line 14 is reliable enough for the shuttle service to have no impact on passengers. However, due to construction work, it is still often closed in the evenings and at weekends.
The Orlybus, which enabled people who didn't want to use cabs to get back to the capital quickly and easily, will no longer be a solution. In the event of a problem with line 14, substitute buses will be provided to make up for the absence of this very practical metro, which reaches the airport and Châtelet in just 25 minutes. You can also take the T7 tramway to line 7 at Villejuif, orOrlyval to Antony station on the RER B.
The authority adds that this decision"is in line with a better allocation of public expenditure to projects to develop the bus network in Paris and the inner suburbs", and should make it easier to understand how to get to the airport.

If you're planning to take the metro to Orly, you'll have to pay a few extra euros, as you'll need a special ticket! However, this does not apply to holders of a Navigo pass. [Read more]
