Attention street art fans! Shepard Fairey, aka Obey, has signed a new work in Paris. Billed as "monumental", it will be visible from June 21, 2025 on the façade of Paris City Hall.

This summer, the City of Paris has a great program in store for you, with several not-to-be-missed events such as Fnac Live, Paris Plages, the Tropical Carnival and the July 14 festivities. A number of new features have also been announced as part of the " Paris en Seine " event, including the return of the vasque and a day of festivities to celebrate the Seine.

Paris City Hall will also be opening its doors, from June 21, 2025, to the exhibition " From Paris to Belém: 10 years of global action for the climate ". The occasion to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the adoption of the Paris Agreement at COP21. To mark the occasion, a new work by Shepard Fairey, aka Obey, will be on view in the heart of the capital. The world-renowned American street artist has created a monumental work of art that can be seen on the façade of the Hôtel de Ville.

A glimpse of this future work can be seen on some of the billboards in Paris. The top of a female face is divided in two, leaving the central part of the Hôtel de Ville facade visible. A tear, tinted red, flows under each eye. The words " Respect " and " Earth ", as well as " Resist " and " Unite ", were symbolically chosen by Obey to appeal to as many people as possible. As always, Shepard Fairey opts for the color code for which he is renowned: red and blue.

This unprecedented work, " designed specifically for the City of Paris ", will be on display from June 21, 2025, from the forecourt of the Hôtel de Ville, transformed into an urban forest.

Shepard Fairey is the creator of a number of striking works on the streets of Paris. In the 13th arrondissement, the American street artist notably created the mural"A Delicate Balance". Representing a giant Mandala, the work was created in June 2016, just after COP21 in Paris. At this 2015 World Climate Conference, Obey had surprised everyone with his " Earth Crisis " project. The American artist had imagined a giant sphere displaying a set of symbols denouncing ecological and environmental disruption. The sphere was suspended between the first and second floors of the Eiffel Tower.
