But if you're one of those planning to take the metro, RER, tramway or Transilien on this day, there's one thing you need to be aware of.
Like every year, RATP and SNCF take advantage of the month of August, when traffic is lighter due to holidaymakers, to launch major maintenance and modernization projects. August 15 is no exception. As a result, disruptions are expected on several lines, with traffic slowing down, being interrupted or timetables being altered.
This article will help you plan ahead to avoid unpleasant surprises. Whether you want to stroll along the banks of the Seine, visit a museum or spend the day with your family in the suburbs, it's best to check service changes in advance.
