On Monday August 25, 2025, Paris celebrates the 81st anniversary of its liberation on August 25, 1944. To mark the occasion, a number of ceremonies have been announced in the City of Light, starting on August 23. These will continue until August 25, culminating in commemorations in the 14th arrondissement and on the Place de l'Hôtel-de-Ville-esplanade de la Libération, in the center of the capital.
The Préfecture de police de Paris has issued a decree to temporarily restrict parking and traffic in certain streets of the capital on August 25. The aim is to " guarantee the smooth running of this event, as well as the safety of people and property ". So, what can we expect?
