Inauguration of the first cable car in Île-de-France: detailed program of free activities

The very first urban cable car in the Paris region will take flight in Val-de-Marne this Saturday, December 13, 2025. To mark the inauguration of the C1 cable car, Île-de-France Mobilités is announcing a series of free activities, which you can enjoy as soon as the cable car goes into service at 11 a.m. Read on to find out more about this festive inauguration day and the detailed program of events at each station.

Starting this Saturday, December 13, 2025, a new mode of urban transportation will be launched in Île-de-France. Called Câble C1, it is the very first cable car in the Paris region. Serving five stations, the Câble C1 will fly over four municipalities in Val-de-Marne, namely Créteil, Limeil-Brévannes, Valenton, and Villeneuve-Saint-Georges, all located in the 94 department. 

After many months of anticipation, the inauguration of the first cable car in Île-de-France is scheduled forDecember 13, 2025, starting at 11 a.m. "On Saturday, December 13, the C1 cable car will run continuously from 11 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. to allow as many people as possible to discover this new mode of transportation," theVal-de-Marne department stateson its website. To mark the occasion, Île-de-France Mobilités (IDFM) and the Val-de-Marne department are announcing several free activities around the five stations of the Câble C1 throughout the day, from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. What's on the program for this festive inauguration day? Creative workshops, musical entertainment, food stands (for a fee), and demonstrations and introductions to various sports and artistic activities.
