Perched at 210 meters on the 56th floor of the Montparnasse Tower, the Paris Montparnasse Panoramic Observatory provides a breathtaking vantage point over the city and its iconic landmarks. This 360-degree viewing platform draws in countless tourists, as well as Parisians eager for a spectacular new perspective on their city.

The Observatory will, however, need to close its doors. Starting from March 31, 2026, the panoramic terrace will be entirely closed to visitors. Starting in 2026, and for at least two years, the Eiffel Tower and its surroundings will undergo extensive renovations. This major upgrade, essential for its modernization, is projected to cost over 600 million euros and is expected to transform both the monument itself and the surrounding area.

To ensure the successful completion of these renovations, all residents of the tower—including Magnicity (owner and operator of the Observatory)—have agreed to cease operations and close the site temporarily to facilitate this refurbishment project.

The Paris Montparnasse Observatory was opened in 1974, just one year after the launch of this highly controversial skyscraper. While it’s celebrated for its breathtaking panoramic views, it also serves as a cultural hub, hosting exhibitions, concerts, lively parties, fashion shows during Fashion Week, and even a winter-time ice rink.

Before it closes at the end of March 2026, the Panoramic Observatory remains open to visitors. If you want to enjoy this spectacular view of Paris, now is the time to go! Tickets start at just 19 euros.
