The Paris Montparnasse Observatory has announced in a press release that Paris's highest skating rink will not be returning to the top of the Tour Montparnasse after all. The statement cited "reasons beyond the control" of the Observatoire.

Paris's highest ice rink was due to return to the top of the Tour Montparnasse, for a fifth edition, from Saturday February 4 to Sunday March 5, 2023. In the end, this will not be possible. In a press release issued on Friday February 3, L'Observatoire Paris Montparnasse announced that "reasons beyond its control" had prompted it to cancel the event.

But rest assured, even if the ice rink won't be there, the panoramic terrace of the Tour Montparnasse will remain open. And as winter settles over Paris, you can also enjoy a delicious gourmet break at the altitude bar, with its menu of hot chocolates, mulled wine and sweet and savoury crêpes.

The little extra: go there in the late afternoon/early evening after a sunny day and you'll enjoy a magnificent sunset.

In short, if you're looking for an original vacation outing, here's a concept that might appeal to you.
