According to BFMTV, several locations—including the Tour Montparnasse and Sciences Po—were evacuated urgently on the evening of Friday, February 20, 2026, following reports of a suspected explosive device. The alert reportedly affected five sites in total, including the Eiffel Tower and the Bataclan.

Several sites were evacuated urgently on Friday, February 20, 2026, according to information from BFMTV. Among those affected are the towering Montparnasse Tower, located at the junction of the 14th, 15th, and 6th arrondissements, as well as Sciences Po Paris. The operation was triggered by a report of a potential explosive device around 6 p.m.

The Montparnasse Tower and Sciences Po both ordered evacuations and de-escalation procedures. Ultimately, no explosive devices were found following the investigation. According to Le Figaro, the Eiffel Tower was also reportedly included in the threat but officials decided not to evacuate it. Multiple emails warning of bombings across various Parisian locations have reportedly been sent to authorities, raising heightened concerns. As reported by France Info, sites such as the Bataclan and a shopping center may also have been targeted.

The operation is coordinated by the Paris Prefecture, with sniffer dogs deployed to assist in clearing suspicions. While some buildings have been evacuated, authorities emphasize ongoing vigilance and adherence to safety protocols. The incident currently does not impact public transportation; however, according to Express UK, it is advised to avoid the 15th arrondissement area for the time being.
