Are you planning to use public transport on July 21, 2026? If so, be prepared, because RATP is warning of disruptions on metro lines 1, 2, and 6. "Due to security measures requested by the Police Prefecture," several stations will not be served on these lines this Tuesday. Here’s what you need to know.

This summer, disruptions are widespread across Paris and Île-de-France public transport. Thanks to renovation and modernization work, service is interrupted on several metro and RER lines, either partially or entirely, in the evening or daytime, on weekends or weekdays. On the line 12, trains are halted between Jules Joffrin and Concorde until July 26 inclusive, while on the line 4, service is interrupted between Montparnasse Bienvenue and Les Halles until July 24. On line 8, commuters will have to adapt, since the République station will no longer be served for nine months.

This Tuesday, July 21, 2026, no construction work is planned, but disruptions are announced by the RATP for "security measures requested by the Prefecture of Police." Contacted by phone, the Paris Prefect mentions a "ceremony" to be held in front of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, beneath the Arc de Triomphe. This commemorative sequence is to be attended by Gabonese President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, who is on a three-day state visit to France.

So what should we expect? Several stations will not be served on Line 1 of the metro. Specifically, the George V, Charles de Gaulle–Étoile, and Argentine stations. The Charles de Gaulle–Étoile station will also be skipped on the Line 2. On the RER A, the Charles de Gaulle–Étoile station is also affected.

Additionally, on the metro line 6, service is interrupted this Tuesday between Kléber and Charles de Gaulle–Étoile. On RATP's website, the operator does not specify how long the disruption will last or which times are affected. If you were planning to use one of these three metro lines on July 21, plan accordingly.
