Work on public transport in Paris and the Île-de-France region is far from over! New metro lines, automation, the arrival of new trains—these are just some of the changes that continue year after year.Île-de-France Mobilités has unveiled its schedule of service interruptions for 2026 through next August, and while most will take place in the summer, others will have a significant impact on users, particularly those on line 12.
Last year, the Aubervilliers–Mairie d’Issy line was frequently disrupted on a short southern stretch, between Montparnasse station and the terminus. And the situation isn’t about to improve, as line 12 is set to be equipped in the coming years with the MF19 metro cars, already visible on line 10, which will demand some platform adjustments and changes.
Since January, the line has been hit by evening closures, with service ending very early at 10 p.m., two to three times a week, in a plan first announced to run through April 2026. A new wave has now appeared in your metros, this time affecting a few days per month until August, in detail always on Wednesdays and Sundays.
That’s going to make life much harder for people who ride this line at night, and it will require some logistical planning to find alternative means of transport.
In May
In addition, the date of May 31, 2026, has already been announced, and this Sunday will see traffic on line 12 interrupted between Porte de Versailles and Mairie d'Issy. As for summer works, the metro line is also affected, closed between Jules Joffrin and Concorde from July 16 to 26.
