The Transilien Line H is suspended between Sarcelles-Saint-Brice and Montsoult-Maffliers in both directions following a serious incident involving a person in the Val-d'Oise. Traffic is not expected to resume before 8 p.m. this Thursday.

Challenging evening for travelers on the Transilien Line H. Service is suspended in both directions between Sarcelles - Saint-Brice and Montsoult - Maffliers, in Val-d'Oise (95), due to a serious incident involving a person. The SNCF says trains will resume from 8 p.m., but there is no guarantee of an immediate return to normal across the entire route.

Which stations are affected by the disruption on line H?

The disruption affects the line’s northern branch, the one running from Paris Nord toward Persan-Beaumont and Luzarches via Montsoult - Maffliers. In practical terms, trains no longer run between Sarcelles - Saint-Brice and Montsoult - Maffliers.

The stations of Domont, Écouen - Ézanville and Bouffémont-Moiselles are cut off from the rest of the network for the entire duration of the incident. Beyond Montsoult, services to Luzarches and Persan-Beaumont are also disrupted, as trains can no longer head back toward Paris.

The other branch of Line H, the one that runs through Ermont-Eaubonne, Valmondois and Pontoise, is not affected by this disruption. It is along that route that a large portion of traffic is diverted in the event of a fault on the Montsoult axis.

Why is service disrupted on Transilien Line H?

The SNCF reports a serious incident involving a person, occurring between the stations of Domont and Bouffémont-Moiselles. The rail operator has not disclosed further details about the circumstances, as is customary in such cases.

These operations involve emergency services, police, and SNCF Réseau crews on the tracks. Until the investigations are finished, no train can run on the affected section, which explains several hours of disruption. Our colleagues at Parisien report the same details.

What travel options are available during the disruption to Line H?

First option, and likely the most effective tonight: take the RER D, which runs parallel to the area a bit to the east. From Paris Gare de Lyon or Châtelet, you reach Garges - Sarcelles or Villiers-le-Bel - Gonesse - Arnouville, then you switch to the local bus network.

The most direct link is the bus 269.

It departs from Garges-Sarcelles train station (RER D and tram T5) and serves Villiers-le-Bel, the Écouen-Ezanville station, Domont, Moisselles and Attainville. It’s the connection to reach towns not served by trains, provided you don’t depart too late: the last departures are around 9 p.m.

For residents of the Montmorency valley, the Vallée de Montmorency network adds to the system, notably line 1517 which runs through Domont and Écouen, and line 1527 between Garges–Sarcelles station and Simone-Veil Hospital in Éaubonne. This provides indirect access to the Ermont-Eaubonne branch of line H, which normally operates.

If your destination is farther north, toward Persan-Beaumont, a detour via the west is still possible. Trains on Line H continue to run between Paris Nord, Ermont-Eaubonne, Valmondois and Persan-Beaumont. The journey will be about twenty to thirty minutes longer, but you’ll avoid the wait at the station.

On the Montsoult - Maffliers side, the express line 9518 links Cergy-Préfecture to Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle airport, stopping at the station — a handy option for travelers coming from the western part of the department. And if the incident drags on late, the Noctilien N147 serves every night Ecouen-Ezanville, Domont, Montsoult-Maffliers, L'Isle-Adam-Parmain, Champagne-sur-Oise and Persan-Beaumont, as noted by the Haut Val-d'Oise Community of Communes.

How to get real-time updates on Line H traffic?

The easiest option is to follow the account @LigneH_SNCF on X, which posts updates as the evening unfolds, along with the blog Ma ligne H, run by the line’s teams.

The Ile-de-France Mobilités app and website let you recalculate a route to account for the disruption, for example by switching to the RER D from Garges-Sarcelles or Villiers-le-Bel, or by using the Val-d'Oise bus network to reach Domont, Écouen, or Montsoult. Travel times will inevitably lengthen, so it’s wise to allow extra time before you head out.

For travelers already at the station, staff on site guide them toward the alternative options available. The restart slated for 8 p.m. remains a forecast: in this kind of disruption, normal service usually takes about another hour to resume as trains and drivers regain their rhythm.
