The Fête de la Musique returns to Paris for its 44th edition, set to get the cobblestones dancing! On Sunday, June 21, 2026, as every year, the capital becomes a giant open-air stage. From the streets to the museums, through the parks, bars and monuments, decibels take over everywhere, free of charge and with no off-key notes. Amateur musicians, solo pros, bands chasing groove: all are invited to bring out their instruments and make the capital vibrate. The start of summer, this great popular celebration makes Parisians’ hearts—and those of all music lovers—beat in unison, until the early hours.
This year, the Paris Police Prefecture cranks up the volume and joins the fun! Nestled in the heart of the Île de la Cité, this imposing neo‑Florentine barracks was built between 1863 and 1867 to house the headquarters of the Paris Guard. Erected on the ruins of Saint-Éloi Church and the Barnabite convent, the Police Prefecture assigned it in 1871 before moving in permanently in 1929. A building steeped in history, an Haussmann-era project, which for one evening trades its uniforms for frenetic, electrifying scores.
On June 21, the Blue House of the Republic throws its doors wide to living music, more precisely to the Police Guards’ Concert Band.
Come hear the Police Band’s wind ensemble in a festive, varied program!
