As Fête de la Musique arrives, Paris slides into a gentler, summer tempo. Squares, streets, gardens and quays become open-air stages where people come to listen, dance, stroll, or simply soak up the atmosphere. Created in 1982 by the Ministry of Culture, the Fête de la Musique showcases both amateur and professional musicians, with free concerts and a wide variety of styles. In 2026, it will take place on Sunday, June 21, 2026.
At the Arenes on Quai Saint-Bernard, in the 5th arrondissement, it’s a must-attend date. Here, music settles along the water, in a riverside promenade where Parisians and visitors already love to gather. The arenas sit in the Tino-Rossi garden, a stroll along the Seine, just opposite the Institut du Monde Arabe.
This place also has a distinctly artistic dimension. Created between 1975 and 1980, the garden has since 1980 housed the Outdoor Sculpture Museum, where several contemporary works punctuate the stroll. The 5th arrondissement town hall notes that Quai Saint-Bernard was transformed into a garden between 1975 and 1980, with a vocation of strolling and leisure.
With its open seating, its views of the Seine, and its outdoor atmosphere, this space is well suited for cultural gatherings. For the Fête de la Musique 2026, the arenas at Quai Saint-Bernard become a meeting point where music, the cityscape, and a Parisian stroll converge. The full program can be found below.
