World Music Day 2026 in Nanterre (92): orchestra, brass band and world music — festivities canceled

Due to the intense heat forecast for this Sunday, « all initiatives linked to Music Day have been canceled » in Nanterre.

An indispensable music event launched in 1982 in France, the Fête de la musique returns as every year on June 21. Once again, this popular, festive and free celebration puts live music in the spotlight for a day and an evening that music lovers wouldn’t miss for the world.

Every June 21, musicians, both amateur and professional, seize the moment to dust off their instruments and pay tribute to genres as diverse as rap, rock, pop, metal, world music, electro, classical, jazz, blues, and French variety. A wealth of styles to discover and hear in many places—on the street, of course, but also in concert halls, bars and restaurants, and even some institutions and museums.

Also, as you might expect, there are plenty of music deals in Paris and the Île-de-France region. This is particularly the case in Nanterre. This Île-de-France city in the Hauts-de-Seine department once again takes part in the Fête de la musique.

This year, for the new edition of this popular event, the municipality invites residents to mark their calendars on Sunday, June 21, 2026 for a musical day that promises to be festive and multicultural. From 2:00 PM, the Fête de la musique will sweep through several neighborhoods of the city of Nanterre, with the same goal each time: to get you dancing! Here's the program.
