Fans had been waiting for it for years. The cult anime of the 2000s and 2010s, Bleach, had ended abruptly, and its ending had never convinced viewers. In 2023, after a long wait, the sequel to the series, Bleach - Thousand-Year Blood War, arrives on Disney+, with its season 2, on July 8.
This new series adapts the final arc of the manga, never before seen in anime form: the war between the Shinigamis and the Quicy. All the fan-favorite characters are back: Ichigo, Rukia, Orihime, Ishida and a whole new gallery of antagonists, more dangerous than ever. This arc, whose ending had been botched due to pressure from the manga's publisher, had disappointed readers. This is an opportunity to see whether Bleach author Tite Kubo took the opportunity to rework the ending, which by his own admission was not what he had in mind.
The first season, released on March 29, was a great success on Disney+, and fans were delighted to see their favorite characters again. It remains to be seen whether Season 2 will be as successful!
