Patricia Mazuy is a regular at the Cannes Film Festival, where she presented her first feature, Peaux de vaches, in 1989. Her second film, Saint-Cyr, was subsequently selected in the Un Certain Regard section in 2000. It won the Prix de la Jeunesse in the French film category.
The French director returns to the Croisette with La Prisonnière de Bordeaux, selected for the Cinéastes Fortnight 2024. The cast includes our favorite leading duo: Isabelle Huppert and Hafsia Herzi.
Alma, alone in her big city house, and Mina, a young mother in a distant suburb, have organized their lives around the absence of their two husbands who are detained in the same place. On the occasion of a visiting room, the two women meet and embark on a friendship that is as unlikely as it is tumultuous.
