Y a pas de réseau, a comedy by Édouard Pluvieux starring Gérard Jugnot and Maxime Gasteuil, will be available on VOD from December 4, 2025.

Directed by Édouard Pluvieux, Y a pas de réseau is a family comedy starring Gérard Jugnot, Maxime Gasteuil, and Julien Pestel. Released in French theaters on August 6, 2025, the film depicts an ensemble adventure in the Hautes-Pyrénées, centered on two children confronted by criminals determined to deprive the region of telephone service. The film will be available for purchase on VOD on December 4, 2025, and for rental from December 10, 2025.

The story follows Jonas and Gabi, aged 9 and 11, who go on a weekend trip with their parents to a remote cottage. No sooner have they settled in than the children decide to explore the surrounding forest and stumble upon two individuals busy destroying a cell phone tower. Cut off from the world and without cell service, Jonas and Gabi must find ingenious ways to protect themselves. The film develops an adventure dynamic accessible to all, where the children's ingenuity becomes the dramatic driving force.

A chase ensues, prompting the two protagonists to transform their cottage into a series of homemade traps and obstacles. The script plays on the light tension typical of family comedies, drawing on the energy of its young performers and a fast-paced direction. The stakes revolve around resourcefulness, courage, and solidarity, in a structure reminiscent of family productions from the 1990s.

The film is a continuation of Édouard Pluvieux's career, which oscillates between cinema and television, with titles such as Amis publics (2016) and 14 jours pour aller mieux (2024). Y a pas de réseau also marks a new reunion between the director and Maxime Gasteuil, who was already involved in the screenplay for their previous joint project. This production also features numerous references, notably to Home Alone, a film that the director cites as a model of the genre.

Filming took place in the summer of 2024 in the Hautes-Pyrénées and brought together a wide range of experienced actors and young performers. Édouard Pluvieux personally supervised the auditions, even going so far as to hide during some sessions to observe the performances in natural conditions. The children were particularly involved: Roman Angel performed almost all of his own stunts, while the duo formed with Roxane Barazzuol was selected after several working sessions.

The project also brings together Gérard Jugnot and Maxime Gasteuil, who met at the Théâtre Édouard VII before collaborating on this film. The director had initially considered Ragnar Le Breton for one of the comic roles, before adjusting his casting. Certain script changes accompanied the preparation, due to a shooting schedule reduced from 47 to 35 days, requiring quick and optimized rewrites.

The role of the policeman was ultimately given to Bernard Farcy after Gérard Jugnot, who was initially considered for the part, preferred to join the other cast. This production thus brings together a mix of familiar faces and newcomers, in a dynamic suited to mainstream family comedies.
