Le Donjon, an escape game in République, invites history buffs to discover Les Derniers Templiers, one of two rooms focusing on the Templar treasure you'll have to find in a crypt. We've tried it, and we'll tell you all about it!

If you're a fan of puzzles of all kinds, we've got the perfect escape game for you... Head for Le Donjon, a chain of escape games a stone's throw from the République district, where you'll find a room ideal for history buffs... Les Derniers Templiers (as it's called) plunges you into the heart of a crypt hidden in Paris, full of secret passages leading you, by solving riddles, to the legendary Templar treasure, jealously guarded from the curious by the last knights of theOrder of the Temple.

Here's the precise pitch for this room: "In 1314, Jacques de Molay, the last Grand Master of the Order of the Temple, perished at the stake. With him went the mythical Order of the Knights Templar... Today, in a lair combining medieval remains and successive renovations, it is said that a treasure is still being guarded. The order is threatened with extinction and is looking for new members to pursue its noble purpose. You have the chance to prove your worth and join their ranks...Will you seize it?

A room that the editors were able to test out and which, to tell you the truth, turned out to be a very pleasant surprise. First of all, you should know that the brand does not have a reception area. Once you've booked your session, Le Donjon will meet you at a location, and a butler will pick you up and take you to the right place. This is where your adventure begins... Once you've reached your destination, a back door is opened and you descend into a strikingly decorated crypt. The rules are explained to you, you put your things down and it's your turn to play.

Once in the room, it's a real treat: a voice-over (by Frédéric Souterelle, voice of Kratos in God of War and Konshu in the Marvel Moon Knight series) explains the history of the Knights Templar. As for the puzzles, they are relatively accessible, so that everyone can finish the experience in good time. But don't be fooled into thinking that they're easy to solve: some will require a bit of thought, but none are insurmountable.

As for the rooms, the decor immediately immerses you in the atmosphere (a few "whaou" effects are to be expected, surprise guaranteed!), and a little special feature: during the course of the experience, your team is required to make choices that will have an impact on the ending. In all, six endings are possible, depending on the choices you make. Note also the presence of actors who, although not physically in the room, have a few surprises in store for you. A relatively athletic room, too, since you'll have to climb and crawl, among other things. And last but not least, you should know that the adventure also includes a chapel, which has been blessed and can therefore (and has) host real masses.

In short, it's a wonderful adventure dreamed up by real enthusiasts, and one we can't recommend highly enough. Shall we book a session, folks?
