What a surprise from Nintendo! At the Nintendo Direct in June 2023, the Japanese company announced the development of a brand-new game based on Princess Peach. The excitement was palpable, as this was the second game entirely dedicated to Princess Peach, the first being Super Princess Peach released on Nintendo DS in 2006. This new game, now available on March 22, 2024, awaits you on Nintendo Switch.
Princess Peach: Showtime was also revealed at a second Nintendo Direct, in September 2023. In a new trailer, we discover our favorite princess in a great adventure, where her many talents will be put to good use.
As Princess Peach and her friends make their way to the Spark Theatre for a performance, the infamous Syrah and her Evil Cluster suddenly appear to take over the stage! The perfect performance has turned sour, and it's up to Peach to save the day! Use the ribbon power of Stella, the theater's guardian, to confront the Evil Cluster and save the performers!
In this solo adventure, far from her beloved plumber, the Princess of the Mushroom Kingdom must be inventive and adaptable to succeed in her missions. At times, the heroine must trade in her famous pink dress for a detective's outfit, afencer's, a ninja's, a pastry chef's, a cowgirl's, a kung fu master's... These changes should bring varied gameplay to this brand-new title.
In a trailer released on January 23, 2024, we discover that each costume offers different powers, and gives access to a variety of mini-games.
This is the second game to feature Princess Peach as a playable protagonist. The previous game, Super Princess Peach, released in 2006, enjoyed considerable success, selling over a million copies and becoming one of the most successful games on the Nintendo DS. The fact that Nintendo chose to give Peach her own game over a decade later is testament to the enduring popularity of the character and the Mario franchise in general.
So one thing's for sure: 2024 is already shaping up to be an exciting year for Nintendo and Peach fans alike. So get set.
