Become Rose and Jack for a few moments thanks to an immersive virtual reality experience that takes you back in time to explore the Titanic before it sank.

Immerse yourself in the most famous shipwreck in history, the Titanic, thanks to a virtual reality experience, starting October 15, 2025, at The Gate VR. You'll be able to explore the ship while it was still afloat, wander its corridors, meet its historical figures, and even discover little secrets about the ship, as if you were really there!

Suitable for ages 8 and up, the immersive adventure begins at the bottom of the ocean, more than 3,800 meters deep, in search of the wreck of the Titanic, before traveling back in time to 1912, where virtual visitors will have the opportunity to explore the spaces made famous by James Cameron's film, from the decks to the cabins, via the engine room and the legendary grand staircase, all meticulously reconstructed.

The interactive 45-minute experience takes you on board as first-class passengers, allowing you to explore the cabins and discover daily life on the ship, before joining the crew in the engine room to feed the boilers. It recreates the atmosphere on board and puts you at the heart of the story!

Our opinion

We'll warn you right away: if you're afraid of the sea, run away! More seriously, if you're afraid of the deep sea, this experience is not for you, as you'll be diving into both the past and the abyss, alongsidethe wreck of the Titanic. If you suffer from vertigo, certain moments may also give you strange sensations, but remember that you are safely on dry land!

We begin alongside a historian, accompanied by her little artificial intelligence in the form of a glowing ball, who will guide us throughout the journey. While she navigates underwater in a submarine, we descend into the middle of the ocean for a gentle dive to 3,800 meters, where we are surrounded by darkness, fortunately illuminated by the submarine's beam and our own flashlight as soon as we look around.

During the descent, we were able to observe whales, schools of fish, and virtually touch a few plump jellyfish before reaching a piece of the wreckage scattered at the bottom of the ocean. It was an opportunity to observe this lifelike reconstruction, as the structure will soon disappear, eaten away by bacteria. We follow the film reels of a Titanic passenger, miraculously saved, with AI taking us back in time to the location of the wreckage.

We discover the old cabins and the lives of some third-class passengers, usually forgotten in stories about the Titanic, through objects found at the bottom of the ocean. We walk through the upper deck, from which we can see the sea, the ship's state-of-the-art gym, the black smoke from the funnels, the magnificent and famous staircase, and the gigantic engine room, as if we were really there.

The last stop, and not the least, is the fateful moment when the Titanic hits the iceberg. We experience the moment at the heart of the action, in the captain's cabin, while everything is still calm, watching the truly magical northern lights through the window. You almost forget that this is virtual reality when you want to lean against the railing! Except that panic quickly sets in when the piece of ice appears and it is impossible to avoid it.

However, don't expect to experience the sinking from the inside, as the experience has chosen to avoid sensationalism and the horror of death. The focus here is on emotions, on getting to know more or less unknown characters who thought they were heading for a better life, and seeing them before us, as a vibrant tribute to their existence, rather than focusing on the tragedy.

A wealth of information is also scattered throughout this ten-minute experience, which can be enjoyed alone or with others to comment on the events, allowing you to learn more about both the wreck and the crossing that made history. However, be warned, you won't encounter Rose or Jack!

This test was conducted as part of a professional invitation. If your experience differs from ours, please let us know.
