Three days to go behind the façades and see what’s really going on: the Journées Particulières return from October 16–18, 2026. In Paris as well as around the world, houses, studios and cultural institutions open their doors for free to showcase their crafts, their techniques and their history.

For this new edition, Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche steps into the spotlight. Founded in 1852 by Aristide and Marguerite Boucicaut, it is widely regarded as the first great French department store still in operation. The duo reshaped retail by introducing fixed prices, the option to exchange purchases, mail order, and home delivery. A quiet revolution behind the counters, complemented by social advances for its employees.

This fall, Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche is unveiling Babel, the latest production from hip-hop icon Mourad Merzouki. Designed by architect Louis-Charles Boileau, with the expertise of engineer Gustave Eiffel, the building has become a defining landmark on the Left Bank. Under its glass roofs and around its steel framework, fashion, design, culture and lifestyle have been converging for more than 170 years. The live performance scene also finds a home here with Babel, a choreography by Mourad Merzouki that was renewed after the success of its initial run in 2025.
