The Journées Particulières 2026: Paris Match opens its archives to the public for the first time

For three days, Paris Match pulls back the curtain on its image boxes. From October 16 to 18, 2026, the Journées Particulières offer free access to spaces rarely opened to the public within the LVMH group. Born in 2011, the event returns for a sixth edition under the theme At the Roots of the Dream, bringing together 46 Maisons across 69 locations in 12 countries. Here, heritage is read in images: negatives, prints, archives, and all the photos that captured the news before they ended up on the front page.

Founded in 1949 by Jean Prouvost, Paris Match built its reputation on long-form reporting and photojournalism, spanning international news, politics, culture, portraits, celebrities, and major events. Behind its covers and feature stories lies an immense archive: 15 million photographs, amassed over more than seven decades. For the 2026 Journées Particulières, the photo archives room of Levallois-Perret (92), never before open to the public, is finally opening its drawers. Suffice to say that here, the contact sheets have more than a few scoops to tell.

The journey is undertaken alongside the archivists and photojournalists of Paris Match. Their job isn’t just about storing images: they preserve, file, document, digitize, and showcase them to keep this photographic heritage alive. War, politics, culture, celebrities, pivotal moments in society… 75 years of current affairs unfold here through the lens. A rare chance to discover what lies behind the front page!
