Borgo delle Tovaglie: this 700-square-meter Italian concept store houses a home décor shop and a bistro in Paris

An old rubber factory transformed into a 700 m² concept store, with home linens, decorative objects and an Italian bistro? What a brilliant idea! And that’s exactly what lies behind the façade of Borgo delle Tovaglie, at 4 rue du Grand Prieuré, in Paris’s 11th arrondissement, just a few steps from Oberkampf.

Opened in 2014, this Paris address is the flagship of an Italian house from Bologna, specializing in home linens and textiles. The vast spaces of the former factory house a selection of contemporary designs, furniture, vintage pieces, and handcrafted objects. The industrial character of the space creates a lovely contrast with the soft materials and carefully considered details of the collections.

Borgo delle Tovaglie specializes in linen, crafted in its Italian workshops. Tablecloths, table runners, napkins, cushions, bed linen and textile accessories come in a range of colors and finishes that make you want to redo your entire décor. Some pieces can even be made to measure, particularly to dress a table with unusual dimensions.

Among the house’s creations, the stain-resistant linen tablecloths have a very practical advantage: they retain the charm of the fabric while standing up to life’s little everyday mishaps. At last, you can enjoy dinner without keeping a nervous eye on the wine glasses!
