Not everyone will be able to catch the matches of Roland-Garros in person, at Porte d’Auteuil... But in France, the clay-court tennis tournament is fortunately broadcast live. This year again, France Télévisions has to share the pie with Amazon Prime Video, Amazon’s streaming service, to televise the Grand Slam. But how are the matches split between the two networks?
Prime Video has seen its share shrink over the years, and now only streams the 11 evening sessions, featuring the night's marquee match, starting at 8:15 p.m. on the Philippe-Chatrier court, from the tournament’s first Sunday through to the inclusive Wednesday of the second week. The vast majority of the matches are therefore broadcast on France Télévisions channels—France 2, France 3 and France 4—from 11 a.m. until the early evening.
The two platforms will, however, co-broadcast live the semifinals and finals of the women’s and men’s singles draws, the women’s and men’s doubles, and the mixed doubles final. This year, France 4 will offer at least two matches per day during the opening week at lunchtime.
Easy to keep track of: today’s matches on France TV, evening sessions on Prime Video! You can also follow the games on France TV Sport’s various digital platforms, from your smartphone, tablet, or computer.
