Tour de France 2023: traffic restrictions in Île-de-France and Paris this weekend

The riders of the Tour de France 2023 close their journey this Sunday, July 23, on the Champs-Elysées. But before that, they'll be crossing the Yvelines and Hauts-de-Seine departments, with a number of blocked roads to be expected.

While fans of the Tour de France love to see the riders pass close to home, motorists are more annoyed, as many roads become inaccessible. In anticipation of therace's arrival on the Champs-Elysées this Sunday, July 23, 2023,traffic restrictions are being put in place all weekend, in Paris, Yvelines and Hauts-de-Seine. The final stage starts late Sunday afternoon from the Vélodrome National in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines , and should finish around 7pm. We take stock!

In Paris:

From 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., traffic and parking restrictions in central Paris, as well as in the 8th and 14th arrondissements. The area from the Louvre to the Champs-Elysées via the Concorde will of course be cordoned off. Neither vehicles nor pedestrians will be allowed to circulate there. Gatherings and demonstrations are prohibited.

In Hauts-de-Seine:

  • In Chaville: Parking is prohibited all along the route, and on the D181 until 6:30pm.
  • In Issy-Les-Moulineaux: Rue de Vaugirard, Quais de la Bataille de Stalingrad and Quais du Président Roosevelt will be closed to traffic from 2.30pm.

In Yvelines:

All roads through which the peloton passes will be closed to traffic between 1:30pm and 6:30pm.

Parking ofall motor vehicles is prohibited in central Paris, Paris 8eand Paris14e, from July 22 at 12pm to July 23 at 11pm, and in certain streets in Paris 7eand Paris16e.

Exceptions will of course be made for residents and service vehicles. Signs will be posted in the zones concerned to inform road users of these restrictions. The Préfecture de Police recommends that spectators use public transport during this period, and that vehicles avoid the area.

Metro and RER stations on the Champs-Elysées will be closed from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.: Charles-de-Gaulle Étoile, George V, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Champs-Élysées Clemenceau, Concorde and Tuileries.
