Present both on rue de la Pompe in the 16th arrondissement and now rue Blomet in the 15th, Club Pilates offers group Pilates Reformer classes accessible to all levels. We were able to discover their new gym in the 15th arrondissement during a Cardio Sculpt session: let's take a look back at the experience.
Although each studio has a small changing room, it's best to arrive in sportswear, as space is fairly limited. The gym houses a large number of Reformer machines, but also offers other equipment. Depending on the class chosen, it's possible to do exercises on the floor or on the Springboard, a wall-mounted springboard for strength, stability and flexibility, which is still not widely used in Parisian Reformer Pilates studios.
We tested the Cardio Sculpt class, designed for those who already have some experience of the Pilates Reformer, as it requires a good command of the machine. Focusing more on cardio, this class combines muscle-strengthening exercises and jumping sequences performed on the jumpboard, a plate attached to the front of the machine that allows you to work intensely without impact, lying down.
Although the course is for a more advanced level, it is quite accessible to all ages and to people who have already done only two or three Reformer sessions. Club Pilates also offers "Intro Class", a free 30-minute session to introduce you to the basics of Reformer.
You can also choose from Reformer Flow, their signature class; Center + Balance, focused on balance; Control, with functional standing movements; Restore, to massage and soothe sore muscles; Suspend, to defy gravity and get stronger with suspension training; FIT, with interval training; and finally Teen, complete classes for young athletes. The site doesn't reveal its online prices, but expect to pay between €22 and €35.5 for a session.
