Located at 24 rue Feydeau, in the 2nd arrondissement of Paris, Summit Cycle offers indoor cycling sessions that quickly raise the temperature. Designed by experts, these workouts are designed to challenge you while enabling you to progress, with precise tracking of your performance.
But in concrete terms, how does a session at Summit Cycle work? Each session lasts 45 minutes, and several formats are available: Summit Training, Summit Endurance, Summit Cross, Summit Sprint, Summit Battle and Summit Extreme. Before the session begins, you pick up your shoes at the reception desk, choose your bike and settle in, with the help of your coach if necessary. Then it's off to a fast-paced, high-energy session.
If you like to crank up the cardio, you won't be disappointed. The Summit Cross course, which we tested, alternates sprints and climbs for 45 minutes. Guided by an experienced coach, you adjust the resistance of your bike using a joystick, to reproduce the sensation of a hill. Summit Cycle's little extra: a screen displays your ranking in real time in relation to other participants. A detail that motivates some, but can slow others down, depending on your attitude to competition. During the session, the coach also proposes team challenges, dividing the room between the red team and the blue team, whose progress is visible on the screen.
Unlike some indoor cycling gyms that focus on calorie expenditure, Summit Cycle is aimed more at cycling enthusiasts and those looking to make real progress. Next stop: the Tour de France!
