Hiking in the Paris region? Head for Meudon, in the Hauts-de-Seine department, to discover part of the Meudon forest. The 13-kilometre"Three Ponds" walk starts at Meudon Val Fleury station (RER C) and takes you into the Meudon forest for a few hours.
The itinerary allows you to explore the nuggets of the surrounding area: the Parc Paumier, the Grand Etang de Chalais, the Hangar Y (a former airship hangar transformed into a cultural venue), theEtang de Villebon, as well as theObservatoire d'Astronomie, nestled in the heart of the forest. And don't forget to make a detour, as the terraces of the Meudon Observatory are open to the public all year round, free of charge!
Allow around 3h30 to complete this attractive 13-kilometre hike: along the way, it's up to you to follow (and spot) the mustard-yellow markers painted on stones, trees, posts.... Alternatively, you can refer to thedetailed written itinerary provided by theHauts-de-Seine tourist office.
To show you how. So, shall we go hiking in Meudon soon?
