For more than seventy years, the white and red markings that symbolize the Grande Randonnée (GR) routes have been a rallying sign for all long-distance walking enthusiasts. Every year, tens of thousands of hikers set off to criss-cross the forests and countryside, survey the mountain ranges and follow the contours of the coastline on these often ancestral paths that have become tourist attractions, such as the Sentier des Douaniers, the GR34 or the GR22 as far as Mont-Saint-Michel.
Numerous sections pass through theIle-de-France region, allowing you to start from Paris, or just a few stages, depending on your wishes. At the end of the summer of 2025, the GR15 was inaugurated, that of the Marne Valley, following the river, its guinguettes, its vineyards and its battles, which have inspired many artists. 10 stages to follow on hikes accessible by public transport, from Paris to Château-Thierry!
