The incredible journey of Montreuil FC continues! The club from Regional 1 (sixth tier), representing the last team from Seine-Saint-Denis, has secured qualification for the Round of 16 in the French Cup. After causing an upset in the previous round, Montreuil’s players are now gearing up to host another professional team: Amiens (Ligue 2).
One of the most remarkable feats of this French Cup run, the club becomes the David of the competition, alongside the Normans of Bayeux, after ousting Chauvigny (N3) this Sunday, December 21. Mark your calendars for Saturday, January 10, 2026, at 3:30 PM, to follow the Montreuillois' adventure!
The Haut-Montreuil club is experiencing a magical season, qualifying for the first time in its history at this stage of the tournament! Facing them is Amiens, a sturdy Ligue 2 team, who won’t be taking this away match lightly. For Montreuil, the goal is to harness the passion of their passionate fans—already fired up during earlier rounds in Bobigny—in hopes of overcoming the two-division gap separating them from the Picards.
Since the Robert-Legros Stadium in Montreuil doesn't meet the standards required for such events, the match is expected to be relocated once again to Auguste-Delaune Stadium in Bobigny. This was the case in the previous round, to accommodate the thousands of supporters expected to attend.
As usual, the match will be broadcast live on beIN Sports, as well as on France 3 Regions, with the club remaining among the smaller contenders this year. Fans also have the option to head to the stadium and experience the excitement firsthand.
